My 30th Birthday Bash

Held down highway 55 in the city of Imperial at place called Twisters. It's owned by none other than Tony Twist from the St. Louis Blues, it’s large enough to hold and strong enough to endure this bash no one is soon to forget. Close friend Jason Ragan and I talked about doing something for my 30th birthday months prior to my birthday. We finally decided that the weekend following my actual birthday (January 9th) would be perfect. So, the Saturday of January 12th would be the night and Twisters would be place. SmackDaddy one of the sweetest rock and roll cover bands around was asked to play and open for the headlining and much awaited Liquor Store Bandits!

Jason and Zach the “dynamic duo” who make up the Liquor Store Bandits began their practicing for promised to be one of the greatest shows Twisters and the entire St. Louis – Jefferson County area has ever seen. Zach came up with an idea to ask SmackDaddy if they would want to play a couple of the LSB’s song together and they agreed. The place, date, and bands had all been locked. The word spread like a Californian forest fire and the excitement grew, the suspense was killing me. January 12th came almost to slow and when it finally did roll around everyone was pumped to point of exploding. I found myself starting the night off around 3pm with a few beers and a few shots. Needless to say I started a bit early and ended up successfully reaching my goal (drunk and puking) before the end of the night!

Thanks to the help of Jason Ragan from one of the hottest bands; Liquor Store Bandits, SmackDaddy, Twisters, and to all my family and friends. My 30th Bash proved to be one of the best nights I won't forget. Over 300 people showed up to party that night and when the Liquor Store Bandits got on stage the roof came DOWN!! I can’t forget SmackDaddy as they rocked it as well!! The last 2 songs played by the LSB were “Push Comes 2 Shove” (mygirlfriend, Lynn’s favorite song) and “Bring the Pain” the song in which they made their first video, were played with a live sick beat from SmackDaddy and together created a mass fury of sound. Special thanks goes out to my Dad and Jeff Mattison for video recording the night, which is currently on the editing table and will surface very soon. Thanks again to everyone that played a part in making my 30th Birthday Bash, easily one of the greatest nights for any and everyone to remember!!!
